Jill Plaisted Resume

Jill Plaisted has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Kentucky, where she majored in painting and printmaking and took a minor in art history.  At U.K. Jill was presented with all forms of printmaking but chose monotype and collagraph as her preferred media, allowing for a more painterly approach to her work.  Since then she has taken printmaking workshops out in Santa Fe, New Mexico and at the Bluegrass Printmakers Cooperative in the basement of the LexArts Building on Mill Street.

As a former president of the Lexington Art League and a member of the Plein Air Painters of the Bluegrass Jill plays an active part in the local art scene.  She has taught many workshops and has for a number of years given art classes for the University of Kentucky Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
Originally from England, Jill has lived in Lexington for twenty five years and before that in Cleveland Ohio.  She is married to Tony Plaisted and they have two grown children, Clare and Thomas.
